Cannectly Terms of Service
Effective date: January 11, 2026
Last updated: January 11, 2026
Welcome to Cannectly (“Cannectly,” “we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Cannectly’s website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Who operates Cannectly
Cannectly is operated by its creator (the “Operator”) from Ontario, Canada.
You can contact us using the contact method provided within the Service (for example, a support email address or contact form shown in the app or website).
2) Eligibility (minimum age)
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you are legally permitted to use the Service in your jurisdiction.
3) Your account
You are responsible for:
maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and
all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to:
impersonate others,
create accounts for someone else without permission,
buy, sell, rent, or transfer accounts or usernames without our permission,
attempt to access accounts or data you do not have permission to access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts as described in Section 11.
4) Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. Where these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict, the Privacy Policy controls for privacy-related issues.
5) Your content and the rights you grant us
“User Content” means anything you post, upload, publish, share, or otherwise make available through the Service (including text, images, audio, video, links, and messages, subject to your settings).
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, you grant Cannectly a license so we can operate the Service.
License you grant Cannectly:
By posting User Content, you grant Cannectly a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content to operate, improve, and provide the Service, including making your content available to others according to your settings.
This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except to the extent:
your content was shared with others and they have not deleted it,
we must retain it for legal, safety, security, abuse-prevention, or backup purposes (only as long as necessary), or
it has been irreversibly anonymized/aggregated.
You are responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.
6) Federation and external sharing
Cannectly may now or in the future support federation or interoperability with third-party servers, networks, or services not operated by us.
If you choose to share content externally (including via federation), you understand:
your content may be copied, re-shared, stored, or displayed by others outside Cannectly,
deletions or visibility changes on Cannectly may not propagate everywhere, and
third parties’ rules and moderation may apply outside Cannectly.
6) Federation and external sharing

If you choose to share content externally (including via federation), you understand:
your content may be copied, re-shared, stored, or displayed by others outside Cannectly,
deletions or visibility changes on Cannectly may not propagate everywhere, and
third parties’ rules and moderation may apply outside Cannectly.

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:

8) Adult content policy (artistic only)
Cannectly permits limited adult content only under all of the following conditions:
Artistic in nature (for example, artistic nude photography, fine art, or similarly artistic content),
Depicts only consenting persons,
All depicted persons are over the age of majority in the relevant jurisdiction, and
The content is properly labelled using any NSFW/sensitive-content controls provided by the Service.
All other explicit sexual content is prohibited, including:
pornography intended primarily for sexual arousal, rather than for artistic purposes,
explicit sexual acts,
fetish content presented as explicit sexual content, rather than artistic in nature,
non-consensual intimate imagery, “revenge porn,” sexual extortion,
any nudity or sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance).
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate this policy.
9) Copyright complaints and infringement notices (Canada)
Cannectly respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same.
A. Submitting a copyright complaint to Cannectly
If you believe content on Cannectly infringes your copyright, send a complaint using the contact method provided within the Service. Include:
identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed,
where the material appears on Cannectly (link(s) and/or clear identifying info),
your name and contact information,
a brief explanation of why you believe it is infringing, and
any other information needed for us to investigate.
B. Canada’s “notice-and-notice” context
Canada’s Copyright Act establishes a “notice-and-notice” framework that applies to certain online intermediaries and requires specific handling of compliant notices in defined circumstances (including forwarding notices and record retention).
Importantly, Canada’s approach differs from U.S.-style “notice-and-takedown” regimes.
C. Our enforcement approach
Regardless of any statutory forwarding obligations that may apply in a given situation, Cannectly may, in its discretion:
remove or limit access to allegedly infringing content,
restrict accounts of repeat infringers, and/or
preserve information as needed for legal compliance, safety, or abuse prevention.
If you submit knowingly false or misleading complaints, you may be subject to legal consequences.
10) Our intellectual property
The Service (including software, design, branding, and logos) is owned by Cannectly and/or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
11) Enforcement, suspension, and termination
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you:
violated these Terms,
pose a risk to other users or the Service,
create legal exposure for Cannectly, or
are a repeat infringer of intellectual property rights.
You may stop using the Service at any time.
12) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
13) Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CANNectly WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO CAD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cannectly from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
your use of the Service,
your User Content,
your violation of these Terms, or
your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
15) Third-party services and links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
16) Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date. By continuing to use the Service after changes become effective, you agree to the updated Terms.
17) Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
18) General terms

No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
